What’s the Hot Meal Challenge?

The Hot Meal Challenge is a charity fundraiser where friends nominate each other to donate hot meals for people in need in London through a mobile application.

Who created the Hot Meal Challenge?

The Hot Meal Challenge is an emergency fundraising campaign by Sufra. We are a London-based charity that works on the front-line in the fight against hunger and poverty to empower individuals and families. We believe every person deserves access to healthy, nutritious food — but right now, that’s not our reality. Our emergency interventions and innovative courses provide a life-line to people in crisis – empowering them to improve their wellbeing, learn new skills, find work and become financially stable. Sufra is registered with the UK Charity Commission (UK Charity no. 1151911). Check us out on Instagram and Wikipedia.

How does it work?

  1. Donate a hot meal (£5.50)

  2. Challenge 3 friends to donate (they have 24 hours to accept)

  3. Share your donation award on your Instagram Story and tag your nominees

Why did we create the Hot Meal Challenge?

UK food prices are up by 19% since last year - that's the highest in over [45 years](https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-65317256#:~:text=Inflation%2C which measures the rate, rate in over 45 years.). Food insecure homes have to bear the brunt of the UK's cost of living crisis. We are harnessing the generosity of London’s student community to tackle food poverty. Every hot meal counts.
